This is the first line of the book which tells us that colours are a large significance during the book and will portray some emotional or ideas that are high significance towards the deeper meaning of the book. For example the cover shows red flames which refers to violence, death, blood etc. Some other colours that may be used are white, which symbolises innocence and purity and black, which symbolises evil and death.
